⚽️ A Bitcoiner Buys a Football Club

On April 13, 2022, Peter McCormack completed the acquisition of English club Bedford FC, later renamed Real Bedford. Under its new owner, the club set out to operate on a Bitcoin standard: building a BTC treasury and accepting bitcoin payments with support from the international Bitcoin community. The club’s crest featured “est. block 712003” in place of a conventional founding year. That Bitcoin block is timestamped November 30, 2021, the same day Nakamoto 11 Limited was incorporated. The company was later renamed Real Bedford FC Limited.
