On June 13, 2014, GHash.io reached 51% of the Bitcoin network's hashrate. In response, GHash.io stated that they "never have and never will participate in any 51% attack or double spend against Bitcoin." The mining pool also issued a statement saying that it would attempt to limit its hashrate to 39.99% by "actively urging miners to redirect their hashrate to other pools." GHash also formed a committee to support Bitcoin Core developers in addressing the 51% attack issue.
