Satoshi begins developing Bitcoin

Around May 2007, Satoshi Nakamoto begins developing Bitcoin. The exact date he started writing the code for trustless money is unknown, but his later messages suggest that work began in the spring of 2007. In an email dated November 17, 2008, Satoshi mentioned working through the system’s details while coding it over the previous year and a half. On June 18, 2010, he stated on BitcoinTalk that he had been working on Bitcoin’s design since 2007, noting that designing the system had taken far more work than coding it.
