On July 3, 1971, journalist and fighter for justice Julian Assange was born.
American authorities pursued Assange for providing a platform to people willing to expose the crimes of the American army and intelligence agencies. As a result, Julian had to hide from the US government for 7 years in the Ecuadorian embassy in London, and also spent 5 years in an English prison.
On June 25, 2024, Julian Assange was released from prison, where he spent 1,901 days, after the WikiLeaks founder reached a preliminary plea deal with the US Department of Justice on one of 17 charges.
